Eternal Marriage

Many of us think that blessings from God are for security, comfort, good finances and health and you are right. But I know that there are many more ways that our Father in Heaven can bless us.  One huge blessing concerns the ability to seal or bind marriages and families together for time and all eternity in the Lord’s temples.

I participated in this type of marriage. My husband and I had to qualify, or be worthy to obtain a recommend to enter this holy house. By marrying in the temple, we make a covenant with God that will last beyond death. 

Our wedding day finally arrived. The sealing ceremony was performed by proper priesthood authority in the Salt Lake, Utah Temple.  During this ceremony I could feel the depth of our love.  

As we looked into each other’s eyes, I felt the love of our Heavenly Father pour into our hearts. We knew that we entered into the new and everlasting covenant with our Father in Heaven at that moment.

I know that someday, as we sit side by side, thousands of years from now, we will remember this day with gratitude and love that we lived in a time when we could partake of this great temple blessing. 

Since that day I have reflected on this event and rejoice in the love that we have for each other.  I have eternal companionship and eternal friendship with my husband and family forever.  What greater blessing from God can there be than this?
