Are you ready to welcome Jesus Christ?
A short story by Nancy Goldberg Hilton
I was sitting next to the window during my flight. I watched the evening sky turn from light to dark as the clouds raced by. I looked down upon the earth.
Suddenly, I saw an explosion below. The earth seemed to convulse and fire shot upward into the sky. What was happening? I saw the flames pour out upon the earth and consume all that came in its path.
As I looked as far forward as I could. The setting sun glowed with a bright red light and reflected the massive changes I saw in the contours of the earth. It traveled from city to city and blackness enveloped the earth.
The people below could not be seen from my window for I was too high in the air. I prayed for their safety and survival. I prayed to my Lord to help them and keep us safe.
I prayed for so many things that God said, “I know little one. But this is the time of change. This is the time of the latter days. This is the time when great faith will be needed by all the children of God. There is only one path to safety and that is through me.”
“I know my Heavenly Father, I pray for all of us now for we face great trials and greater change.”
Our plane was descending to its destination. I securely fastened my seat belt and braced myself for the landing to come. Then we landed and I looked out the window again. What I saw brought tears to my eyes. There were thousands of people lining the runway, all on their knees praying. The light was not from electricity, nor the moon. The light was from Jesus Christ and no other source could be seen by the human eye.
It had begun.
Were we ready?
